Addressing members of the press, co-president Netty Baldeh explained that there were number of issues being discussed during the three days meeting and that the committee members had decided to focus on paramount development areas, adding that the issue of security, health, migration, agriculture and entrepreneur are what being captured in the Freetown communiqué that all agreed to.

“this meeting is not to tell nation’s state of what project to put forward or as a way of controlling them, but in the case where intervention is needed we as a committee can intervene to provide a solution to the problem in any state, but the project Sierra Leone to put forward will not be determine here but rather by the Sierra Leone government.” Netty Baldeh stated.

He further stated that in the area of security poverty happened to be a major reason for the spread of terrorism in the Africa region and that the spill of terrorism was very much possible, stating that the indicators are present in every nation which was a major concern.

The leader for the Sierra Leone Delegate to ACP, Ibrahim Bundu expressed optimism about the outcome of the three days meeting, as he stated that the meeting will have a positive impact on the development of the country and that the EU team had been able to thoroughly assess how the funds provided being utilized, as that will be seen as a means which EU could scale up their portfolio in the country.

Ibrahim Bundu pointed out that the meeting could serve as legacy for him when once he eventually declared for the flagbearer for his party and that the conference served as a big achievement in his political pursuit.

Acting co-president, Hon. Michele Rivasi mentioned that Sierra Leone was indeed improving and that her visit to Sierra Leone for over thirty-five years ago was quite different considering the infrastructural development. Sierra Leone hosting the meeting ensued to be part of the country’s development, he had experienced.

A member of the Sierra Leone Delegate to ACP Hon. Helen Kuyembeh said the honour now laid upon each and every representative in the meeting, to work effectively with the documents being prepared for the development of the region. She furthered recognize the effort and partnership in support of the Africa Caribbean Pacific.
