 The aim of the project, according to Plan international and it partners was to contribute to the nutritional status, income earning and capacity building of the targeted households in domestic livestock rearing.

Making her statements, the Programme Strategy Manager of Plan International Sierra Leone, Mariam Murray said, the support was aimed at improving access to financial services, and also creating ways of contributing to the policy implementation, on the prohibition of the consumption of bush meats in rural communities.

Development Planning Officer in the Port Loko District Council, Nyuma Maningo described the support as timely and very important , adding that Plan International and it partners  would continued to  assist in monitoring the effective utilization of the livestock’s supplied to the Ebola survivors.

In their statement, District Agriculture Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security, Charles A. Bangura and the Director of Youth in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Charles Moihma thanked Plan International for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of domestic livestock project.

The Paramount Chief of Koya, Alhaji Bai Kompa Bomboli 11 expressed thanks and appreciation to Plan International and partners for the gesture, and assured them that the beneficiaries would properly utilize the items they had received for it intended purposes. He encouraged Plan international for more support to Koya Chiefdom.
