The charge sheet further disclosed that the convict, Fomba Bunduka purported his registration date of birth to be 4 April 1988, in an application form for recruitment into the Sierra Leone Police Force, for the rank of a constable, given such declaration as true and accurate registration date of birth, knowing it to be false.

He was also charged with the offence of false declaration contrary to section (5b) of the perjury act of 1911, of the laws of Sierra Leone, and that the convict on Thursday 23 February 2017, at the police training at Hastings in the Freetown rural district, in the western area of the Republic Sierra Leone, made false statement in his own hand writing on police attestation sheet, as the true and accurate registration date of birth, knowing it to be false.

 In his plea of mitigation before judgment was slammed on him, the convict, Fomba Bunduka canvassed the presiding magistrate, Dr. Abubakar Binneh Kamara to tamper justice with mercy, as he was a first time offender of the laws of Sierra Leone.

However, Dr. Binneh Kamara concluded proceedings by convicting and sentencing Fomba Bunduka to three months imprisionment, of pay a fine of three hundred thousand leones to the court sub judiciary treasury at Siaka Steven street in Freetown, and the matter was prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Samuel Kamara.
