Defence Council of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces announces the Compulsory Retirement and Discharge of 70 soldiers from the Force.
The Ministry of Defence in a press release issued today confirms that the decision affected officers across various ranks, including Major Generals and Lieutenants.
53 officers ranging from Major General to Lieutenant were retired under administrative measures, 11 officers from Major to Lieutenant were discharged due to prolonged absence and 6 officers from Lieutenant Colonel to Lieutenant were dismissed for misconduct.
The decisions according to the Force, are in accordance with Section 169 (1) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone Act No. 6 of 1991 and Army Orders No. 1 of 1965, paragraphs 26 and 27 (a & b),” the release stated.
