forces at the Jendema Mano River Division intercepted two suspects carrying a concealed firearm.

This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of security personnel to protect the nation’s borders.

The suspects, identified as Aron Sambai and Morris Sonbala, both residents of Tennie Town in Liberia, were apprehended during a routine search at the pivotal Jendema Custom Complex—a vital crossing point between Sierra Leone and Liberia.

The interception occurred when security forces discovered a locally-made shotgun concealed beneath the seat of their unregistered red TVS Star Sport motorcycle. The duo was reportedly traveling to Tennie Town at the time of their arrest.

Following their capture, the suspects became defensive, each denying ownership of the illegal firearm and shifting blame onto one another. They were swiftly transported to the Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Bo City, where thorough investigations are currently underway.

The proactive measures taken by the joint security forces reflect the heightened focus on border security and the ongoing efforts to combat illegal arms trafficking in the region.
