Police in Bo city have arrested a 24-year-old woman, Mamie Foday, for the alleged murder of her 42-year-old husband, Ishiaka Magai. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 8, at the couple’s residence on 42 Koribondo Road.
According to reports, the couple, who had been married for several years but had no children, had a history of domestic disputes. Witnesses claim Foday had previously threatened her husband, allegedly saying, “I will be the one to kill him.”
On the day of the incident, Magai was reportedly asleep when Foday stabbed him in the stomach. He was rushed to Bo Government Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. His body has been transferred to the mortuary for further examination.
Five witnesses have provided statements to the police, corroborating reports of Foday’s threats and describing the events leading up to the fatal attack.
The Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) South is handling the investigation, led by Detective Police Constable 18924 Mbayo M. under the supervision of Detective Assistant Superintendent of Police Titus Vandy.
Authorities have confirmed that the case file will be forwarded to the Principal State Counsel for legal advice as investigations continue.
