Ali Abdallah aka Ali Colesee affirmed that as ‘Operation Clean Freetown’ started in Freetown early this month, the Lebanese Community thought it fit to contribute to its success, as a result have provided several assorted items like 50 wheel borrows, 100 head pans, 210 shovels, 50 bags of rice, 20 cartons of fish and 100 rakes. He added that the operation is not all about cleaning Freetown but also to clean our environment and pleaded with all Sierra Leoneans to come together and work to improve the sanitary condition in the country. He said that cleaning is not all about Freetown, but should include the offices, homes and the environment, emphasising that it is everybody’s business and all citizens should embrace it with a burning desire to see their surroundings clean.

Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, a representative from the President’s Recovery Priorities, said they are working together with Freetown City Council and the Ministry of Health to ensure that the operation is successful. She thanked the Lebanese Community for this great support, adding that the donation is a source of motivation to all organizations and individuals in the country.
