The home of Sierra Leone’s Opposition Leader in Parliament, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, was completely destroyed by a fire late Monday night in Lungi, Kaffu Bullom.
Eyewitnesses say the blaze spread rapidly, reducing the residence to ashes within minutes. The fire also consumed all personal belongings inside, leaving Hon. Kargbo with significant losses.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the intensity of the flames left little to be salvaged.
No casualties have been reported, but the incident has left residents and political supporters in shock. Hon. Kargbo has yet to make a public statement regarding the tragedy.
