The Archdiocese of Freetown has announced a memorial Mass in honor of the late Pope Francis, directed by His Excellency Archbishop Edward Tamba Charles. The Mass will take place at the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10:30am.
This memorial service follows the funeral Mass scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Rome. The Freetown memorial Mass aims to express gratitude and acknowledge the life and ministry of Pope Francis, who served as a beloved leader in the Catholic Church.
The Archbishop has extended an invitation to all clergy, religious leaders, Catholic institutions, schools, and the entire lay faithful of the archdiocese to participate in this significant event. He emphasizes the importance of community cooperation during this time of mourning.
