Sierra Leone Brewery Limited (Heineken) has reached an agreement to transfer its ownership to Sierra Bottling Group (SBG), a subsidiary of African Bottling Group Limited (ABG).
This follows the transition announcement made by the management of Sierra Leone Brewery Limited, the Ministry of Employment Labour and Social Security and the Sierra Leone Labour Congress which has held series of consultative meetings in a bid to finalise the transition plan, payment of employees end of service benefits and to maintain industrial peace and harmony between Management and the general workforce of Sierra Leone Brewery Limited.
Addressing the workforce at the SLBL Canteen, Minister Swarray re-echoed the government’s commitment to ensuring a seamless transition and uphold fairness and social justice.
He further assured the general workforce to put their best foot forward during the course of the transition and that all legal entitlements as provided for in the Employment Act will be paid accordingly within the stipulated timeline.
Management representatives reaffirmed their unflinching commitment towards the process and to comply with all relevant provisions in the Labour Laws.
