The United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan David Hunt, hosted the Millennium Challenge Authority Sierra Leone (MCA-SL) Board of Directors members for lunch at his residence to mark the resumption of the compact implementation and discuss next steps for the initiative.

According to the report, the board is working to recruit the MCA-SL executive team, as well as select two Civil Society Organization (CSO) board members and one private sector board member to complete board membership.

Earlier this year, the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, disclosed that Sierra Leone was the only African country approved for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact by the United States Government without any modifications to its program.

Minister Bah shared the news during a press briefing, noting that the U.S. conducted a thorough review of trade and foreign investments among 25 countries participating in the MCC program.

The MCC Compact is expected to enhance energy access and reliability in Sierra Leone, contributing to economic growth and improved living conditions for its citizens.
