Segbwema, the gateway to Kailahun district, has recently witnessed a wave of transformation led by the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Alhaji Fanday Turay.

In a gesture blended with infrastructure and compassion, Minister Fanday has donated thirty (30) solar-powered street lights to the people of Segbwema to enhance public security and nighttime visibility.

This initiative marks a significant step in ameliorating the persistent electricity crisis that has affected residents over the years. Minister Fanday Turay recognised the urgent need for the solar-powered street lights to renew hope among the constituents who have long been challenged by blackouts.

The people of Segbwema have welcomed the donation with gratitude, noting the positive impact on public safety, schoolchildren and community gatherings. At some places, businesses can now operate longer hours, children can play at night, and families feel safer walking through their neighbourhoods.

The installation of the street lights has commenced at strategic locations across the township of Segbwema, ensuring his deep commitment to President Bio’s inclusive development and his belief that no community should be left behind in the journey towards national development.
