All People’s Congress (APC) Party’s Member of Parliament (MP) for Bombali, Honourable Catherine Zainab Tarawally, has told party members and supporters, especially the Electoral Justice Ideologist that the tripartite is not to remove President Julius Maada Bio from power as misinformed by some people in the party.
Addressing crowds of party supporters and members in Bombali, Hon. Catherine Zainab Tarawally said, “The Tripartite is not here to unseat President Bio, but for the betterment of Sierra Leone. This is the reality. Stop fooling our people. Enough is enough of this fooling strategy. Me as your MP I am tired. I am even afraid to go to the local market lately, all owing to these lies from some of our party members. Our people do not have what to eat and yet some of our people go about fooling them with tripartite lies”.
She reminded the members and supports that the Party will soon start its Lower Level elections, while encouraging them to go and contest the elections so that they will be able to vote for their flagbearer for the 2028 elections. “Avoid falling for this tripartite gimmicks, they are fooling you. Come out from those lies and let us prepare ourselves and our party to return to State House in 2028”. Hon. Tarawally concluded, clearly explaining to her people that the Tripartite is meant to review the problems that have happened and to find a ways for them not to reoccur.
Electoral injustice in Sierra Leone has been a pressing concern, particularly following the disputed 2023 presidential and general elections.
Many APC members and supporters hold the believe that the introduction of the Tripartite is to unseat the country’s elected President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and hand over governance to APC’s Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara to continue governing the country.
