“No evidence that he holds a Sierra Leonean Passport”- Sierra Leone’s Foreign Affairs Minister disowns drug lord Don Vito

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Alhaji Timothy Musa Kabba has denied seeing any evidence or diplomatic note that the person arrested in Tuckey on drug related offences, holds a Sierra Leonean diplomatic or ordinary passport, adding that any such claim would be fully verified if formally brought to his attention.

It can be recalled that over the weekend, the Turkish Government released photos of Abdullah Alp Üstün, aka Don Vito, said to be a brother-in-law of cocaine baron, Mr Jos Leijdekkers (aka Bolle Jos), alleged by the media as carrying a Sierra Leone Diplomatic Passport.

A serious allegation was that Abdullah Alp Üstün got the said Sierra Leone Diplomatic Passport with the help of Bolle Jos. Don Vito was extradited from Dubai to Turkey on an Interpol Red Notice for alleged links to international cocaine trafficking, bribery of the Judiciary and other crimes.

Socio-political analyst, Dr Sylvia Olayinka Blyden, who first broke the news, said she officially contacted the Sierra Leone government for their comments and the Information Minister has promised to update her soonest they get more information on this unfortunate scandal again around our country’s Diplomatic Passport.

Don was captured alongside another alleged associate of Bolle Jos known as Hassan Lala.
