Bio also pointed out that there have been several Heads of State who could not travel to the United States before attaining the Presidency but later were invited to the United States. He made references to former South African President, late Neslon Mandela and the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

Also showcasing his international reputation, Bio mentioned that he can travel to everywhere in the world and noted that travelling to the United States is not a criterion to be a President.

Asked whether as President he will be able to attend United Nations’ conferences, a relaxed Julius Maada Bio smiled and said yes. He further emphasised that as President the bilateral relationship Sierra Leone enjoys with the United States will continue.

Bio also described his travel to the United States as trivial, adding that it is a storm in a teacup. He boasted that he spent seven years in United States and acquired both his undergraduate and Masters Degree in America. The latest interview by Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio will reassure voters that as President, Bio will continue to improve Sierra Leone’s bilateral relationship with United States and ensures that both countries have an excellent relationship.
