The ACC wishes to reiterate its previous position that teachers and school authorities must not solicit or accept a bribe from pupils, parents, and guardians. The Commission reminds the public that offering and accepting a bribe, whether solicited or not, is a crime under Section 28 of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008; and any violation of same will be accordingly prosecuted.

In this regard, the ACC urges parents, guardians and pupils to resist such solicitations and not offer bribes to school authorities; and are hereby encouraged to report to the Commission on the free-toll number 515 from all networks.

The Commission wishes to reassure the general public of its relentless resolve to pursue bribery at all levels in Sierra Leone.
