He further stated that the legal last day of office for President Ernest Bai Koroma is on the 23rd February, 2018. He maintained NEC need to announce date in order to foster democratic good governance, “for me am not working for government, but there are government or public officials who might want to run for parliamentary, presidential, or local council elections, NEC need to announce the elections date, because these individuals need to abide by the constitution of Sierra Leone, by resigning from active public in order to take part in active politics” Kambarainba noted.
“If NEC falls short to announce the election date, come February 23, 2017. I will stage a serious peaceful demonstration to NEC; the good thing is State House and Parliament are around the same area, so the message is clear, they will know that people need a date for the elections” he noted.
