All People’s Congress (APC) Party’s strongwoman and former Cabinet minister, Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden has joined the call for the Sierra Leone Police to institute a speedy investigation on the alleged burning down of the house of Finda Diana Konomanyi, former All people’s Congress (APC) Party Cabinet minister, and bring perpetrators to book.

Dr. Blyden first broke the news on the alleged arson on her social media handles, stating that

the ugly incident happened after Diana Konomanyi refused to show up or participate in the launch of the APC party campaign in Kono on Monday May 29th.

Dr. Blyden said: “In the night of Tuesday May 30th, her house in Kono was burnt down to the ground in a despicable act of Criminal Arson.

“Her refusal to join the APC to campaign in Kono, follows a series of despicable abuses and even vile “mammy cuss” on her late mother in recent weeks”.

According to Dr. Blyden, the late mother of Diana Konomanyi was not only abused, but just last week, some instructions were given by a fugitive residing out of the country that houses of members of the APC who do not support their faction of the APC party, should be set on fire.

“The most recent threat to burn down our houses was made last week. So, this week, on the day immediately after Diana Konomanyi refused to join the APC to campaign in Kono, her very beautiful house in Kono has been set on fire yesterday May 30th 2023”. Dr. Blyden stated, while also joining the call for speedy police investigations. (https://hhcdropshipping.com)

Similarly, members of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in Kono have also strongly condemned the alleged incident and called for police investigations on the incident.

SLPP’s District Secretary in Kono, Sheik Abubakarr Koroma said: “We condemn all forms of political violence, more especially against women within the district and the nation at large.

“This criminal and horrific attacks are not acceptable in any decent society. We therefore call the police force to swiftly investigate and bring the perpetrators behind this act to justice.

“More so, we are also asking the security personnel and duty bearers to increase their security surveillance within the district. We are yearning for total stability before, during and after election. As such, the peace of citizens is what matters to us a party.

awe therefore employ all political parties within the district to abide by the rule of law.
