The Sierra Leone Police have declared one Amadu Feith Bangura of Susan’s Bay in Freetown for the alleged killing of his girlfriend Nafisatu Sesay. Before his disappearance, Amadu was invited by the police to answer to a charge of Manslaughter.
Addressing journalists at a press conference yesterday, Police said on 23rd February 2023, one Ishmael Sesay, father of Nafisatu (deceased), came to the station and reported that Amadu impregnated her daughter, who later lost her life following an illegal abortion.
Police told journalists that Mr. Sesay reported that she noticed that her daughter start appearing sick lately and when she was cohered, she confessed that she was pregnant for Amadu. He said they moved as a family to Amadu’s house and reported the sad development to the Uncle of Amadu, who promised to investigate the matter.
Mr. Sesay said whiles they were waiting for Amadu’s family to revert, few days after, on 23rd February, 2023, they received a phone call from a relative that the body of their daughter has been discovered at a nearby road bleeding and lifeless.
He said upon their arrival at the scene, they noticed that their daughter lost her life following an illegal abortion she had involved herself into.
He said they rushed her to the hospital where doctors confirmed that she died as a result of excessive bleeding after the illegal abortion she committed apparently from a quack doctor.
Mr. Seasy said they rushed to the police station and reported the matter against Amadu who impregnated their daughter, the police issued a warrant of arrest for him but that since then, Amadu has been on the run.
Concluding, the police said the case file for Amadu is still opened, that they have since issued a warrant of arrest for him and they will continue the investigation until Amadu is seen and arrested to come face the law.
