He informed counsel of the plaintiffs that the lawyer representing the defendant, A.L. Sesay, had on previous trial date raised an objection that the former had once taken the same matter to the High Court, where Justice Tolla Thompson was the presiding judge, adding that a ruling was given in favour of the complainants and that their benefits were paid to them.
The plaintiffs – Moses Momodu Johnson, Dura S. Bangura, Mamusu G. Kamara, Francis Fatoma Gamanga, Doreen M.R. French, John Bangura, Christian M’bayah, Francis Bockarie, Joseph Ngobeh and Anthony S. Roberts – on 14th October, 2015 filed a motion against the management of Sierra Leone Port Authority, in respect of their redundancy benefits.
According to the judge, the issue raised by the defense counsel was very serious and promised to investigate.
He promised to engage Justice Tolla Thompson on the said matter, adding that he would have no option but to jail the complainants if he confirmed they had gotten a ruling.
