The mortal remains of the late National Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC), Alhaji MinkailuMansaray, are expected to arrive in Freetown from Dakar, Senegal, on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
The announcement was made by the APC’s Parliamentary Leader, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, who noted that the arrival date represents a slight adjustment to the schedule previously communicated by the party.
According to Hon. Kargbo, preparations are ongoing to ensure that the late Chairman’s remains are repatriated in a manner that reflects the dignity and respect befitting his status as a senior national politician and party leader.
He disclosed that the APC is working closely with the Government of Sierra Leone and other relevant authorities to facilitate a smooth and well-coordinated repatriation process.
“The party continues to collaborate with the Government and all concerned institutions to ensure that the return of our late Chairman is conducted with the utmost respect and dignity,” Hon. Kargbo stated.
Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, who passed away in Senegal, was a prominent figure within the APC and played a significant role in Sierra Leone’s political landscape over the years.
Party officials said arrangements are being finalised for the reception of the body upon arrival in Freetown, with plans being made in accordance with established traditions and national protocols.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements and other related activities are expected to be announced by the party in due course.
The passing of Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray has attracted tributes from political leaders, supporters, and well-wishers across Sierra Leone, who have described him as a respected statesman and dedicated public servant whose contributions to national development and democratic governance will be remembered.
