All People’s Congress (APC) Party’s flagbearer aspirant and Leader of the DIB Movement, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, has continued his grassroots outreach with a strategic stopover in Jendema, a key border town linking Sierra Leone and Liberia.
Dr. Bangura, accompanied by members of his delegation, made the brief visit while en route to Pujehun Town, using the opportunity to engage local stakeholders and traditional authorities as part of efforts to strengthen community ties and promote inclusive dialogue.
During the engagement, the delegation held consultations with the Paramount Chief of SorogbemaChiefdom, Mustapha Jenje Massaquoi III, alongside section chiefs and other community leaders. Discussions focused on pressing development needs, the importance of cross-border cooperation, and the critical role of traditional leadership in sustaining peace and unity.
Community members also raised concerns affecting livelihoods and local governance, providing the DIB Movement with firsthand insight into the realities facing border populations. Dr. Bangura reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered policies and inclusive governance, emphasising the need for stronger engagement with underserved communities.
Observers note that the visit highlights the growing political attention on border regions, which play a vital role in trade, security, and regional integration. The DIB Movement’s outreach in such areas is seen as part of a broader strategy to build national cohesion and deepen citizen participation.
Following the stopover, Dr. Bangura and his team proceeded to Pujehun Town to continue their engagement activities across the district.
