Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, popularly known as “D Saviour,” has continued his political outreach with a meeting involving the executive of the All People’s Congress (APC) in Paris, France.
The engagement, described by participants as constructive, provided a platform for Dr. Bangura to outline his political vision, mission, and strategies aimed at national development and youth empowerment both within Sierra Leone and across the diaspora.
During the discussions, Dr. Bangura indicated his intention to contest for the APC flagbearer position and ultimately the presidency, emphasizing that his ambition is driven by a desire to improve the lives of citizens rather than personal gain. He highlighted his guiding mantra—“Heal, Unite, Build”—as central to his political philosophy.
According to him, Sierra Leone faces significant challenges, including economic hardship, social division, and slow development, which require a deliberate effort to address. He stressed that national healing must begin with restoring trust and addressing the struggles faced by citizens.
Dr. Bangura further underscored the importance of unity, calling on Sierra Leoneans to prioritize national development above partisan interests. He noted that building a strong and prosperous nation would require a solid foundation anchored on peace, cohesion, and collective responsibility.
“We must agree that to develop Sierra Leone, unity should be an intrinsic part to consider,” he stated.
Members of the APC executive in France welcomed the engagement, describing it as timely and valuable. They expressed appreciation for Dr. Bangura’s efforts to connect with the diaspora and shared their expectations for strengthening the party’s cohesion both at home and abroad.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the executive to voice concerns and reaffirm their commitment to promoting party unity and contributing to national development.
Political observers note that such engagements form part of broader efforts by aspirants to consolidate support ahead of the 2028 elections, with the diaspora expected to play a key role in shaping the party’s future direction.
