APC Presidential Candidate Dr Samura Kamara meets Commonwealth Secretary: Holds Town Hall meeting in London with party supporters

Presidential Candidate for the All People’s Congress (APC) Party, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara has met with Commonwealth Secretary General, Baroness Patricia Scotland KC in Marlborough House, London.

Dr. Samura Kamara said: “I met with the Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland KC to discuss elections, national unity, democratic and commonwealth values. As I have always maintained, I am committed to a peaceful, free, fair and inclusive elections”.

Dr Samura Kamara and Commonwealth Secretary General discussed importance of Commonwealth values including peace, democracy and the rule of law.

The APC Presidential candidate also held town hall meetings with members of the APC in the Diaspora at the JK Banquet Hall in Forest Hill in London.

He spoke about his plans for Sierra Leone and called on APC supporters to help promote a peaceful election.

The presidential candidate said he is going to address the issues affecting Sierra Leoneans if he is elected as president of Sierra Leone at the June elections.

“I am going to pursue a clean energy policy and I aim to make use of solar energy, a renewable and green energy source, to address the energy challenge in Sierra Leone.

“If I am elected as president, I will endeavour to address the economic issues, particularly inflation, in the country. My aim is to help Sierra Leonean businesses to be positioned and to add value to their products so that they are more appealing to potential customers”.

The APC presidential candidate went on to say; “I will further work on policies to assist people with disabilities”, while calling on the audience to join him in his vision to build a country with a strong foundation.

Simeon Bangura, Chairman of the APC UK&I Branch, welcomed the presidential candidate and audience. He said the purpose of the meeting is to enable the presidential candidate to meet Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora to discuss issues of importance to the country.

Dr Kamara was accompanied to the event by the Vice Chairman of the APC, Dr Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, Former Chief of Staff and Former Minister of Trade and Economic Development, Dr Richard Konteh, Former Minister of Trade and Industry, Amb. Alimamy Petito Koroma, Former Defense Minister, Paolo Conteh, Former Minister of Trade and Industry Hon. Captain (Rtd) Momodu Allieu Pat-Sowe and Former Minister of Transport and Aviation, Leonard Balogun Koroma (commonly known as Logus).
