Commissioner Ben Kaifala was on Radio Democracy 98.0 FM where he told the world that save President Dr.

Julius Maada Bio who has promptly declared his assets to the ACC, most MDA officials are yet to declare their assets.

According to the ACC chief, the Commission is currently working on amendments to ensure that asset declaration process be narrowed to only top MDA officials and not as it is now.He said immediately after the amendment process, the Commission will stop at nothing to go after public officials and force them bylaw, to declare their assets.

It can be recalled that the New Direction government has repeatedly made commitment to the fight against corruption and ensure that MDAs are made corrupt free.

His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio declared his assets before the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), in line with Section 119 (1) of the ACC Act of 2008.

The said Section stipulates that: “Every public officer shall, within three months of becoming a public officer, deposit with the Commission a sworn declaration of his income, assets and liabilities and therefore not later than 31st March in each succeeding year that he is a public officer, deposit further declarations of his income, assets and liabilities and also while leaving office”.
