According to the Minister, his ministry is currently reviewing and assessing the work of his predecessor regarding the upgrade of the sector.

Mohamed Bangura pointed out that technology is an integral component in the development of every nation. He disclosed that his ministry is working in collaboration with the National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) to give ICT a facelift in the country.

He revealed that NATCOM has been making prudent moves to engage telecommunication service providers to ensure that quality service is provided for Sierra Leoneans across the country.

He said his ministry has liberalized the gateway which has opened the doors for other companies to come into the country to provide telecommunication services. Minister Mohamed Bangura maintained that following the liberalization of the gateway, they have received many applications from multinational companies.

 

He vowed to do all in ensuring he surmount the challenges in the ICT Sector.
