The Management of Africa Young Voices Media Empire has commenced a mandatory weekly training programme for all staff, consultants, and fellows as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve overall performance.
The initiative is a structured seven-week training programme designed to enhance organisational standards, build professional skills, and improve productivity across all departments within the media house. Management noted that attendance is compulsory, with participants expected to be punctual and actively engaged throughout the sessions.
The opening plenary session was facilitated by renowned journalist Umaru Fofanah of the BBC, who led discussions on copyright issues, editorial standards, and the importance of producing quality content in today’s media landscape.
Subsequent sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including professionalism and workplace ethics, digital media, and specialised training for various departments such as News and Current Affairs, radio, technical operations, broadcast transmission, administration, marketing, corporate affairs, IT, and camera operations.
Management emphasised that the training is critical to improving content quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and enhancing overall organisational effectiveness.
The programme reflects AYV’s continued commitment to capacity building and maintaining its position as a leading media institution in Sierra Leone.
