The Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire, in partnership with the National Union of Sierra Leone Students (NUSS), will today, 16 July 2026, officially launch the Miss University Sierra Leone 2026 Pageantry at The View, FCC Building in Freetown.
The launch ceremony will formally unveil this year’s edition of the national university pageant, outlining its vision, objectives, theme, and planned activities ahead of the competition.
According to the organisers, the event will bring together key stakeholders, development partners, contestants, members of the media, university representatives, and invited guests to mark the official commencement of the 2026 pageant.
Organisers say the initiative is designed to celebrate and promote the empowerment, leadership, intelligence, and academic excellence of female university students across Sierra Leone, while providing a platform for young women to develop their leadership potential and contribute meaningfully to national development.
“We celebrate this important milestone and showcase the empowerment, leadership, and academic excellence of young women in Sierra Leone,” the organisers stated.
The Miss University Sierra Leone Pageantry has become one of the country’s leading platforms for promoting education, confidence, advocacy, and positive youth engagement among female students, encouraging contestants to serve as ambassadors for social change and national development.
Today’s launch is expected to set the stage for another exciting edition of the competition as organisers unveil the roadmap leading to the crowning of Miss University Sierra Leone 2026.
