In a big boost Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr., CEO of the AYV Media Empire, has officially endorsed the upcoming National Music Awards organised by the Sierra Leone DJs Union (SLeDU).
The endorsement came during a high-level consultative meeting held at the AYV Headquarters in Freetown, where the media mogul met with a cross-section of the SLeDU executive.
Speaking during the meeting, SLeDU National President, Prezo Koroma, expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Navo for his unwavering commitment to the arts. Despite the meeting being convened on short notice, Koroma noted that Navo’s willingness to engage highlights his dedication to the industry.
“We are here to officially inform you about the National Music Awards and to seek your blessings,” President Koroma stated. “We are committed to building the image of this brand, and to do that, we must work with those who have paved the way. We are following the man who knows the road.”
Jida Kiz Kamara, SLeDU’s Director of Communication, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing AYV’s pivotal role in music promotion. He noted that the union’s collaboration with Eminence Africa—a leader in artist marketing—combined with AYV’s influence, would restore public trust and foster healthy competition within the music scene.
Responding to the delegation, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr. accepted the invitation to lead and support the initiative, emphasising that his endorsement comes with a call for high standards. He pledged to leverage his network to engage corporate partners, urging the organising committee to remain transparent and avoid any conflicts of interest to maintain the award’s integrity.
Beyond corporate backing, the Ambassador promised personal support to the union, recognising the essential role DJs play in the nation’s cultural fabric.
“My team and I will endorse this award,” Navo affirmed. “Working with Eminence Africa is a great step toward building the integrity of the ceremony, and we are ready to help you build that bridge to the fans through our Media platform”.
