Captain Fabjanko Kokan is Country Manager of Bolloré Transport and Logistics Sierra Leone. Speaking to newsmen in an exclusive interview before the start of the march yesterday 26th September, 2019, he said once again this year, each agency organizing its event will be able to arrange a solidarity action.

This action must be local and in line with the Bolloré Group’s new corporate sponsorship policy, which focuses on youth, especially education.

humility, excellence, courage, solidarity, agility and  innovation, Captain Kokan noted, are the values that are shared by all during the Marathon Day.

He said the Marathon Day is above all a festive and sharing moment through a solidarity race.

“Every year, we see an increasing involvement of employees, and we hope that it will progress even further. Marathon day is the charity event for Bolloré Transport & Logistics’ employees.” Captain Kokan stated; adding that this year, more than Four Hundred (400) employees took part in the event in Sierra Leone with each contributing 3 Euros to the charity.

He went on to say this year the funds raised from staff’s contribution to the marathon were donated to Milton Margai School for the Blind and School for the Deaf and Dumb, both in Freetown.

Claurida Morgan is Bollore’s Human Resources Manager. She said every year, the event is growing and that an increasing number of employees is joining this great moment of solidarity.

This according to her shows that team spirit, cohesion and sharing are part of the main values of Bolloré Transport & Logistics ‘teams.

She said this year’s marathon proceeds were used to purchase and supply water tanks and assorted school materials to the two schools.
