The Caritas Freetown Media Team has held a coordination meeting with the Tzu Chi Media Team and other members of the Tzu Chi delegation at Home Suites Hotel. The meeting was convened to strengthen collaboration and ensure effective media coordination during Tzu Chi’s visitation activities in Sierra Leone.
The primary objective of the meeting was to agree on a joint media coverage approach that will support the smooth implementation and documentation of all Tzu Chi-supported activities. Discussions focused on information sharing, alignment of communication strategies, and collaborative field coverage to ensure accurate, timely, and impactful storytelling.
Both media teams reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to jointly cover project activities, enhance visibility, and uphold ethical and professional media standards throughout the engagement.
During the meeting, the delegation also shared plans for an upcoming visit by a celebrity from Taiwan, who will support capacity-building initiatives for women and the distribution of sanitary pads to adolescent girls aged 12–15. This intervention aims to promote menstrual hygiene management, dignity, and empowerment among young girls while strengthening women’s capacity at the community level.
The media coordination meeting laid a strong foundation for effective collaboration between Caritas Freetown and Tzu Chi. By adopting a coordinated communication approach, both organisations aim to ensure quality documentation, increased visibility, and clear reporting of project activities and outcomes to stakeholders and donors.
