East End Lions Football Club has confirmed the appointment of Chairlady, Asmaa James as the Club’s new Head of Women’s Football. The move according to the Club is part of the ongoing restructuring process.

Asmaa is a dedicated and passionate advocate for women’s football having served as the inaugural Chairperson of the revamped Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League Board and will bring her expertise and leadership to the club’s female teams.

In her new role, Asmaa will be responsible for overseeing the development of the female football

program at East End Lions Football Club, including players recruitments, training programs and competitions scheduling.

She will work closely with the coaching staff and players in strategising and planning to ensure the growth and development of women’s football in the Club.

Chairlady Asmaa James expressed her excitement about the opportunity to lead the women’s football program at East End Lions Football Club, stating that she is committed to empowering women through the Sport of football.

She is looking forward to develop working with the talented players and dedicated staff to achieve great success on and off the field.

The Club in a press statement said: “We have great confidence in Asmaa James’ ability to lead the women’s football program and we are very excited about the positive impact she will have on the different categories of the teams. We believe that her leadership will help to elevate the women’s team to new heights and showcase the talent and potential of female footballers in Sierra Leone”.

East End Lions Football Club is committed to supporting women’s football and providing opportunities for female players to thrive in the Sport.

With Chairlady Asmaa James at the helm, the Club is looking forward to a bright future for the women’s team and continued success in promoting gender equality in football.
