Hon. Alhaji Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella is currently in Accra to deliver a keynote address at the 2025 African Summit 2025, an inaugural platform convening Africa’s most influential leaders to shape a bold, united continental future.
Invited by the Government of Ghana, Dr. Yumkella stands among four distinguished keynote speakers driving vital dialogue on Africa’s most strategic priorities.
Under the Summit’s overarching theme “Building a New United Africa,” Dr. Yumkella will focus on the Energy Transition Imperative, an issue he has long championed as essential for Africa’s sustainable development and economic transformation. His address will capture the urgency of shifting toward clean, reliable, and equitable energy systems that can power the continent’s growth and ensure climate resilience.
Organised jointly by the African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC), the Government of Ghana, and the Centre for Strategic African Development (CENSADEV), the 2025 African Summit is a bold convening of Heads of State, policymakers, business leaders, investors, innovators, civil society leaders, and academics, among others. The Summit aims to transform Africa’s narrative by aligning political and economic visions around shared priorities and forging actionable partnerships.
Against the backdrop of Africa’s vast resources, youthful population, and rising global influence, the high-level Summit reflects a growing consensus that the continent must design its future “by Africans, for Africa,” leveraging inclusive, integrated, and forward-looking strategies to accelerate progress.
