Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, Dr. David MoininaSengeh, has arrived in Dakar to participate in the 2026 Yidan Prize Conference, a global forum focused on advancing education and development across the world.
At the conference, Dr. Sengeh is expected to deliver a keynote address on the theme “Radical Inclusion in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” where he will highlight the importance of inclusive education systems in shaping Africa’s development trajectory in an era of rapid technological change.
The conference brings together global education leaders, policymakers, and development partners to exchange ideas on innovation in learning, equity in education access, and the role of emerging technologies in shaping future education systems.
During his visit, the Chief Minister will also hold a series of high-level meetings with government officials and international partners to deepen cooperation on education reform and broader development priorities.
He is accompanied by councilors from Kenema and Freetown, an arrangement described as a way of connecting global policy discussions with local governance realities in Sierra Leone.
Officials say the engagement reinforces Sierra Leone’s commitment to building an education system that is more inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of a rapidly changing world.
Dr. Sengeh’s participation at the conference is also expected to spotlight Sierra Leone’s ongoing reforms in education and innovation, particularly efforts aimed at expanding access and improving learning outcomes nationwide.
