Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, Dr. David MoininaSengeh, has attended the West Africa Federation of Engineering Organisations (WAFEO) Strategic Conference 2026 as Guest of Honour, held at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Freetown.
The high-level conference was convened under the theme “Engineering the Future of West Africa: Accreditation and Mobility,” bringing together engineers, policymakers, academics, and industry experts from across the sub-region.
Discussions focused on strengthening engineering standards, enhancing professional accreditation systems, and improving workforce mobility to support regional integration and development.
Participants also explored the critical role of engineering, technology, and innovation in driving sustainable development, economic transformation, and competitiveness across West Africa.
The conference provided a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration among stakeholders to build a more skilled and interconnected engineering workforce in the region.
Dr. Sengeh’s participation underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to advancing innovation, strengthening human capital development, and promoting regional cooperation as key pillars of national and continental progress.
