Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, representing President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, has officially launched the UniPod Innovation Hub at Fourah Bay College, marking another significant step in the Government’s drive to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.
The newly inaugurated innovation hub is designed to provide students and young innovators with access to modern technology, mentorship, business development services, and collaborative workspaces to transform innovative ideas into sustainable enterprises.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Sengeh reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to investing in education, technology, and innovation as essential pillars for empowering young people, creating employment opportunities, and driving Sierra Leone’s economic growth. He noted that equipping young entrepreneurs with the right skills and resources will strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem and support long-term national development.
The launch ceremony attracted government officials, development partners, university administrators, students, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering innovation and nurturing the next generation of business leaders.
The establishment of the UniPod Innovation Hub underscores Sierra Leone’s continued efforts to build an enabling environment for entrepreneurship, research, and technological advancement, while creating new opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s socio-economic transformation.
