The Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has played a key role in strengthening governance cooperation between Sierra Leone and the United Arab Emirates during the World Governments Summit in Dubai led by the President of Sierra Leone Dr Julius Maada Bio
On the sidelines of the Summit, Dr. Sengeh joined high-level government officials as Sierra Leone and the UAE signed a governance and development cooperation agreement, aimed at deepening collaboration in public sector reform, innovation, education, digital transformation, and institutional capacity building.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment by both nations to promote effective governance, knowledge exchange, and sustainable development, in line with the summit’s theme of Shaping Future Governments.
Speaking during the engagement, Dr. Sengeh emphasized that Sierra Leone is keen to learn from the UAE’s global leadership in innovation-driven governance, while also showcasing Sierra Leone’s own reforms in education, technology, and inclusive policy-making.
“This partnership represents a bridge between Africa and the Middle East, focused on practical solutions that improve service delivery and create opportunities for our people,” Dr. Sengeh noted.
The Chief Minister’s participation reinforces Sierra Leone’s growing presence on the global stage and highlights the government’s strategy of using international platforms to attract partnerships, investment, and policy innovation.
