The Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone has donated 15 Lifan motorbikes and other operational support items to the Office of National Security (ONS) to strengthen security coordination across the country.

The handover ceremony took place on June 4, 2026, at the ONS headquarters on OAU Drive, Tower Hill, Freetown.

Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr. Ahmed Sannoh, described the donation as a major boost to the work of the ONS and a sign of growing cooperation between Sierra Leone and China.

He also recalled an earlier donation by the Embassy in December 2025, which included a 275 KVA generator, tablets, printers, and folding chairs.

Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Zhao Yong, praised the ONS for its efforts in enhancing national security and reaffirmed China’s commitment to continued support.

National Security Coordinator, Abdulai Caulker, said the motorbikes would be distributed across the provinces to improve mobility and strengthen security operations at the district level.

The ceremony ended with the signing of a bilateral agreement and the symbolic handover of keys to the 15 motorbikes.
