The Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Hu Zhangliang, on behalf of the Embassy has donated Le150,000 (New Leones) to the Ministry of Social Welfare for further donation to the affected families of the recent flood disaster in Freetown.

“China and Sierra Leone have always been true friends. We hope this donation can be of some help to those who lost their loved ones or properties in the flood. This is to show our sympathy, support and friendship,” Ambassador Hu said.

Upon receiving the donation, Hon. Minister Baindu Dassama Kamara of the Ministry of Social Welfare thanked the Chinese Embassy for such an important and timely gesture.

The Honorable Minister promised that her Ministry will make sure that the donation will be used for its intended purposes and be distributed to the needy as soon as possible.
