His Excellency Chinese Ambassador Hu Zhangliang, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone, donated a batch of food and non-food items to the victims of the Susan’s Bay fire disaster through the Ministry of Social Welfare.

The donated items include 12.5 tons of rice, 2,500 liters of cooking oil, 5 tons of flour, 2.5 tons of sugar, 990 kg of salt and 100 towel blankets.

Ambassador Hu said that this donation is to supplement the good efforts of the Sierra Leonean government and local authorities among others in relieving the victims of the difficulties.

On receiving the donation, Hon. BainduDassama, Minister of Social Welfare, spoke highly of and registered sincere thanks to the Chinese Embassy for supporting the government’s efforts by providing the much needed items at the right time.
