He received a total of one hundred million Leones (100m) and a trophy from the organizers of the competition, Salone Got Talent, at a well attended ceremony by his fans, sport personalities and the press.
Before presenting the cash money, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Salone Got Talent, Ibrahim Wurie Bah said that he is a man of his words, “what I promised I have fulfilled”.
He said for the sake of transparency I came with 9 officials from Great Britain and a camera man from Australian, working for the BBC.
He said to the winner “this money you have won is to take care of yourself, so that you can develop your sporting career”.
He also revealed that he has a special package for all the guys that took part in the competition.
He also stated that come next year competition we will also have the strongest women in the country; she too will win hundred million Leones while the strongest men will take home hundred fifty million Leones.
He said he is doing all this not for anything special but to promote the youth by motivating them.
The Director of Sports, Ibrahim Bangura, who presented the money to Gallex, said Gallex has proved him wrong as he was thinking that Gallex was only going to participate but at the end he won the competition.
He said that sports is money, with the right incentive the athletes will be happy. He also thanked the CEO, Ibrahim Wurie for staging such a competition.
The Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), Abdul Karim Sesay who also doubles as the President of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association said want Ibrahim Wurie has done nobody has done it and went further to encourage him to continue such a good work.
