The purpose of the Survivors’ visit to the Ambassador was to show solidarity and say thank you to the Cuban people through the Ambassador for their supports and doctors they jet in to help in the fight against the deadly Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone.

Speaking on behalf of the visitors, Yusuf Kabbah, President, Sierra Leone Association of Ebola Survivors recalled that the Cuban Doctors saved over Two Hundred and Sixty (260) people who were in critical health conditions after contracting the virus.

He said the Doctors were very much active and instrumental in deadly zone attending to people, even in red zones where other people were afraid to reach.

For this and many other things, Mr. Kabbah appealed to Ambassador Cruz to reach his government and people with the messages of appreciation from the Government and people of Sierra Leone.

The visitors were warmly welcomed by the Ambassador who assured them of his government and people’s continued support to Sierra Leone. He further assured them that their thank you message will surely reach his government and people.
