DAYU Mining Company Boosts NMA Laboratory

Explaining the difficulty the company underwent especially when it comes to analyzing samples, Samuel Kamara said they had to export their samples to the UK to be analyzed and this he said took time for them to have the results.

This, he stressed delayed the company’s commencement of operations in the country adding that it has also been a challenge to other companies wanting to do largest scale gold mining in the country.

The operations manager furthered that because they have been able to secure such equipment at their mining site at Masibri in Tonkolili district, the ones presented to the agency are to assist the agency in generating the right calculation that will aid government in it revenue generation.

He continued that this will also be of help to other companies and that this is just part of what the company has been doing in the country, noting they have also been helping the community were they operate in terms of road construction and other cooperate social responsibilities.

Receiving the equipment, the Technical Services and Laboratory Manager at the National Minerals Agency, Abdul Amara said Dayu Mining Company said the items will help the agency to be knowledgeable about the amount of gold generated and calculate the amount of royalties government is supposed to have.

He said it will also help the agency in analyzing the amount of gold being mined and further gives boost to other companies to commence operations.

Dayu Mining Company he went on is the first company that is engaged in large scale mining in the country. Speaking on the status of their laboratory, Abdul Amara mentioned that the equipment is a boost to the ones they have, noting that the agency currently has a standard laboratory.

These equipment, is believed, will help the agency to be able to evaluate the amount of gold mining that is done in the country and also ensure the country benefits from these resources.

Among the items donated included muffed furnnis, crucibles and many others.
