Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has called for national healing, unity, and renewed purpose in an Easter message delivered amid ongoing political tensions in Sierra Leone.
In his message issued on Easter Sunday, the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant extended greetings to Sierra Leoneans and party supporters, urging reflection on the values of peace, justice, and reconciliation symbolised by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Today, we pray for a nation that is healed, united, and built on the foundations of peace and justice,” he stated, emphasizing the need for collective effort in fostering national cohesion.
Dr. Bangura’s message comes at a time of heightened political strain, including the continued boycott of governance processes by the All People’s Congress over electoral concerns. While he did not directly address the ongoing impasse, his remarks underscored the importance of unity within both the party and the country at large.
He further expressed hope that the Easter season would inspire renewed energy and purpose among citizens and party members, encouraging a forward-looking approach grounded in peace and inclusivity.
Political observers view the message as a measured appeal for calm and reconciliation, as Sierra Leone navigates a sensitive political period ahead of the 2028 general elections.
