Flagbearer aspirant of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr Ibrahim Bangura (DIB), has donated motorcycles to eleven constituency chairwomen during a district engagement tour at the party’s office in Kenema.
The gesture, according to Dr Bangura, forms part of his broader commitment to grassroots empowerment and practical support for female political leaders. Addressing a large gathering of party members and supporters, he said his ambition to lead the APC is driven by a desire to “change this country for the better.”
Dr Bangura emphasised the challenges faced by women and children, describing them as among the most vulnerable in society, and pledged to prioritise their needs if given the mandate to lead. He also commended the growing strength of the DIB movement in the district, noting that increased grassroots support reflects confidence in his vision.
Calling for unity within the party, Dr Bangura urged supporters to reject tribal and divisive rhetoric, stressing the importance of cohesion both within the APC and across the country. He further encouraged party faithful to rally behind his candidacy with a clear mandate ahead of the flagbearer contest.
He assured supporters of continued engagement at all levels of the party, including upcoming lower-level conventions, which he described as critical to strengthening internal democracy and participation.
