The students praised Dr. Yumkella for his consistent advocacy for gender balance across society, highlighting his leadership in the energy sector, particularly the promotion of clean cooking initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of women and families throughout Sierra Leone.
Speaking during the visit, the President of the Gender Equity Society, Esther Fatima Tholley, expressed appreciation to Dr. Yumkella for granting them audience and commended his sustained efforts in advancing women’s welfare both nationally and internationally. She noted that his dedication to promoting inclusive development continues to inspire young people, especially students committed to gender advocacy.
