Hon. Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella reaffirmed his deep loyalty to the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as he joined party members and supporters at the much-anticipated inauguration of the SLPP North America executive in New Jersey. His attendance was a powerful reminder of his commitment to party unity and the strengthening of its membership overseas.
For SLPP members in the diaspora, Dr. Yumkella’s participation carried special meaning. It signalled his recognition of the crucial role Sierra Leoneans abroad continue to play in advancing the party’s vision and sustaining its influence beyond the country’s borders. His warm interactions with attendees send a message of solidarity and shared purpose.
Despite a packed schedule, Dr. Yumkella made time for the event and then undertook a nearly three-hour journey to Maryland later that same night to honor a commitment to the North America Madingo Women Association’s cultural program. This extra effort reflects his respect for party members and cultural groups abroad, as well as his determination to stay personally connected with the communities that help keep the SLPP strong and united.
