In a recent development, the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has issued a public notice regarding a disruption in power supply due to technical difficulties encountered at the Freetown 161 Power Station at Kingtom.

The incident occurred on Monday, 18th March, 2024, between the hours of 5:30 pm and 6 pm, affecting the synchronisation of power generated from the Karpowership for distribution to residents of Freetown.

According to the management of EDSA, technical teams from both EDSA and Karpowership are actively addressing the technical glitches. Once resolved, power supply to the city will be promptly restored.

In light of this inconvenience, EDSA extends its apologies to the affected residents and urges for patience and understanding during this challenging period.

“We are currently working diligently to rectify the issue and restore power to our valued customers,” stated the Management of EDSA in their notice.

The authority also expressed gratitude for the usual cooperation and understanding from the public.
