 She went on to say that “NEW has empirical evidence to support our projection.” According to her, their projection is based on the use of parallel vote tabulation, a standard tool for election observation that provides accurate and timely information on election and counting at polling stations.

She went on to state that this tool can provide estimate of official election results, adding that their projection is based on representative sample. She maintained that it is only the National Electoral Commission that has the legal authority to pronounce official certified election result.

She however stated that NEW acknowledges that tallying of results are ongoing across the country and therefore appealed to citizens and political parties to wait for official and certified result from NEC.
