At the retreat, the Managing Director of AYV, Dr. Ezekiel Duramany-Lakkoh in his PowerPoint presentation said it is no secret that with an established strategic management team, AYV is now unarguably positioned as a reputable and trusted media and business Institution broadcasting credible, balanced and factual entertainment, informative and educative contents.

He said within the last one year the Company has signed over three hundred Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with reliable partners and clients and is still working on meeting more MoUs.

He informed that all AYV programmes are now fully registered and these include; Housemate Salone, Miss University, among others.

Dr. Duramany-Lakkoh went on that AYV is now reaching a threshold of financial sustainability wherein it will soon start solely financing its operations using its own raised revenues.

On his part, Shadi Al-Gerjawi, Managing Director (MD) of Africell, one of AYV’s most trusted partners said the relationship between Africell and AYV started as far back the days when AYV was merely a newspaper and radio outlet.

Even without a MoU he went on, with mutual respect for each other, the two institutions got and are still enjoying perfect partnership.

According to Al-Gerjawi soon Africell will be establishing five more new sites and will definitely power AYV’s operations in any of these sites should the media institution choose to expand its services in any of these areas.

He encouraged AYV to continue on its expansion processes and further assured Africell’s continued support and partnership to power any new AYV site countrywide, while congratulating the media company for holding such a laudable retreat.

Closing up the retreat, CEO of AYV, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jnr. thanked Africell for positioning AYV where it is today. He revealed that all the towers hosting AYV countrywide are owned by Africell and this according to him, are not limited to the company’s continued power and supports to the AYV.

The ambassador revealed further that the AYV is almost completing the construction of a new building that will be hosting the new Africell studios which he assured will be handed over to Africell in January of 2020.

In addition, he went on, the ground floor of the new building, thirty-two rooms, will be hosting more studios and important offices for AYV.

In addition, Ambassador revealed that AYV has just bought a brand new Out Side Satellite Studio Truck that is currently on the high seas with hopes for it to be in the country by first week of January 2020.

The suffocated media vehicle according to Navo, has installed, six proper ultra-modern standard cameras for outside broadcasting and that this will be the first time in the history of Sierra Leone that such a Truck is coming to the country.

He said with AYV’s partnership with the BBC, the Company will soon be receiving consignments of ultra-modern equipment including broadcast and communication satellites that will be installed on the Truck for proper international standards.

“With the new Truck and equipment, AYV can now bring live broadcasts from anywhere in the world as long as there is internet service provision in that area” Ambassador Navo concluded, adding that with AYV now on Multi-Choice TV, it is reaching close to two billion viewers worldwide.

This, according to him, is not for money but that Africell and AYV’s partnership aims to sell Sierra Leone positively internationally and rebrand its image in media and broadcasting.
